On October 21, 2010, "This Aborted Earth: The Quest Begins" was announced as a final Jury Selection for YouTube Play: A Biennial of Creative Video. Out of over 23,000 submissions, only 25 videos were selected for this honor.

During an extraordinary celebration in the rotunda of New York City's Guggenheim Museum, Mike Banowetz and Noah Sodano of Untimely Films were recognized alongside a group of extremely talented video artists from around the world. The selected videos were also exhibited in a special gallery installation inside the Guggenheim Museum.

Created by Untimely Films as an introduction to the world of This Aborted Earth, "The Quest Begins" is a seven-minute short which had its World Premiere on April 17, 2010 at The Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles, California as part of the 2010 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival.
